Please share your picks:
Derby
1. Pyro
2. Big Brown
3. Dennis of Cork(thanks for the info Omalley. I know he probably isn't running, but if he were, I would think he had a chance to win, so until I know for sure he isn't, I'm using him).
4. Colonel John
5. Z Fortune
Since #3 is ?able, I will throw in Cool Coal Man, since I have a $5 future on him in Pool 2.
Oaks
1. Pure Clan
2. Proud Spell
3. Eight Belles(have a $20 future on her, might go in Derby!) gah;
4. what's the scoop on Indian Blessing? fell of the face of the earth?!
5. who else am I leaving out?

In the #1 Slot, I have no problem with either of these 3
BIG BROWN, PYRO and COLONEL JOHN
After those 3, I would include all of Barclays 3, I will toss Trucks race as I tossed Pyro's yesterday on the "fake but safe" track
then I would still put in War Pass....now that he is proved beatable.....he "might" be allowed loose on the lead.....if so, I wouldn't auto toss him
the next tier you can put in about 10 horses who shall remain nameless

Derby
Colonel John, Court Vision, Tale of Ekati, and Pyro are the only dual qualifier’s in the Derby. I don’t necessarily like them in this order. I think there is a good chance that War Pass and Bob Black Jack will push each other for the opening mile if their jockey’s can’t hold them back a little. I think that the last 1/8 War Pass and Bob will be running sideways with their tongues hanging out. Last year the first three were easy to pick, this year who knows but most likely it will someone that nobody figures like some 50-1 shot. Can’t wait though it is too early to even guess until we know who is in the field, the posts are drawn, and we know the weather and track conditions. These last three weeks might bring some surprises like someone gets hurt or someone new emerges.
Oaks
Haven’t given the fillies much thought although I think the chalk will prevail in this one.

hey Gary...alot of people are taking away from Tale of Ekati's win in the Wood given War Pass sucking eggs...however.....BArclay wash't overly thrilled that Ekati moved when he did....even though he won the race....in the Derby..he shouldn't have to move that early and knowing he is a dual qualifier......I am looking forward to using him in the Derby as I still don't think we have seen his best race.....
If Colonel John carries his races to the "real" dirt...he will be tough in the lane.....

If "Eight Belles" goes in the Derby then I don't think the chalk will win the Oaks.
Also I don't think she can beat the boys either even though it looks like a weaker field then last year.

Big Truck looked like a monster in the Blue Grass post parade! Had his neck all bowed up, looked like he was ready to explode, so I was sure to keep an eye on him. I think you can forgive the effort on the polytrack factor.

Agree. Obviously, she is very good, but she's not the Rags to Riches type, IMO. Hope she goes in the Oaks so my future wager will be live, and so I can get a better price on Pure Clan on oaks day.
