It was a warm sunny Saturday morning at Tampa Bay Downs. Pat Day was the guest speaker..I joked with him about winning 8 of 9 at Arlington Park and asked if he didnt have a mount, to which he replied he finished 2nd...You don't have to be a Pat Day fan to realize he is a class act, and got out with his health intact...He is preaching the word of the Lord now,and is quite happy with his decision......I asked him about polytrack... he never raced on it but said it is quite safe , but like myself has some concerns about it...I wonder how hot it will be to race on on the summer ??? California seems so eager and determined to switch to it that I hope the right decision is being made..and also ponder if the track records will have astericks now... Pat was on hand signing autographs and will be in Tampa til Monday for the silent auction,which should have some iinteresting items . Maybe I'll pick up a Jerry Bailey and Pat Day boot and use them as book ends...Well anyhow the money goes to a good cause..........
