I think its finally time for an American to step up and win the BC Turf. I know that Dylan Thomas will be an abnormally large favorite for a BC race, but here are a few things to consider and/or hope for on BC Saturday:

1. English Channel has an affinity for the MTH turf.
2. He, for the most part, has been able to relax better with age. Being too keene was always one of his problems.
3. He is mean as hell. When I was a part of Pletcher's barn, I worked directly with a few of his top grooms that shipped in from Belmont. One had been with English Channel for a long period of time. He's all they wanted to talk about, he thinks he owns the barn. And he takes that attitude to the track.
4. Todd Pletcher. No need to elaborate, the name says it all.
5. If youre thinking key, great value, with so many relying on Dylan Thomas to be a single.

Its just food for thought. ds:

English Channel has a reputation for beating "good" horses, but not "great" horses. If he's good enough to beat Dylan Thomas and Red Rocks, than now is the time to show it, because he isn't getting any younger. Odds of 10-1 or so combined with incredibly short odds on Red Rocks and/or Dylan Thomas, my sway me in his direction, but I don't see both Dylan Thomas and Red Rocks failing to bring their A game.

Red Rocks isn't in top form right now...D. Thomas is the horse to beat. I am rooting for Channel
