This is a thread dedicated to current horses to watch and whyhh) .... I would like an explanation... Here are a few of mine, I'll explain and try to update others in the future.

CROWNED DANCER... Juan Garcia got this one a few months back from C. Paasch, whom I'm not too fond of. He's found his old ability and late sprint stride. He ran into 2 fresh and powerful horses last out (including Grinding It Out) who were able to conserve enough energy to stay clear of him, allthewhile CROWNED' had a wide trip. They ran really fast in front of him, and he fired before the turn. That really should set him up for his next $32-$40000 K claim run next out at SA or other Cali track. If he enters in a race with any speed to set up his punch..watch out!

BANDINI ...easily handled solid ALW horses at GP last week...I've never seen him more impressive.. His race was to me way more impressive than Harlington's good effort the next day at GP. I think he steps up in G1 or G2 immediately and scores with a fair race setup. Talent to burn. a:

I consider his last race against Lawyer Ron an improvement over previous because of the competition; I like improvers regardless.

His name is Impeccable... broke his maiden in a well-hyped event at OP with very few works on the slower side by John Servis, who normally has 'em crackin' big works before unveiling. He returned to an allowance event to chase a lone leader (who was the chalk, a Nicks' runner out of Groovy Jett with big credentials for the race). He faded after moving within a length of the favorite and held third, beaten about 6 lengths. I really expect this guy to be tight with sharp works for his next one, and maybe stretching out to a mile. This $550 K colt has the look of a runner with potential.. I expect now Servis will get down to training him. Look for sharp drills since his last race. If they're there, get down on him next out. Probably get from 5/2 to 4/1. Time to get serious with this youngster.

HERES ANOTHER -- SA (cali circuit)

POTION -- three races off the Mithcell claim this horse has showed speed and improved staying power at the $20 K claiming level. He caught a class horse on the drop last time and just couldnt hold him at bay.. If Mitchell stretches him out to 1 1/16 mi. or a little past the mile he's been at, he will be ultra, ultra, tough to catch.. Honestly he's a place pik all dream horse regardless..but I think winning time is just around the corner for the son of Dr. Catontu? bh) ...throw me some bones....

...Hess claimed Potion out of his last 2nd at a mile.. Not sure Mr. Hess read my thread, but he entered him up for $32 K, (a $12,000 higher tag than his 2nd at SA at a mile) at GG AT 1 1/16 miles instead of the 1 MILE Mitchell left him at for his 2 or 3 2nd place finishes. RESULT: POTION WIRE TO WIRE $7.80 winner... I didnt check e-mail this weekend, didnt know he was in.. fooey!!

...I thank that NY Hero was almost too sharp coming into the race... 7 straight bullets... I think when he hit the lane alone, he had to be wondering why in the world his legs still felt good, no more soreness, and decided to keep the ship going (REMEMBER: HE HAD LOST 16 STRAIGHT RACES COMING INTO THIS. HE HAS TO RE-LEARN HOW TO WIN AND PUSH HIMSELF, IT TAKES TIME)... I totally expect him to continue to improve off this effort.. It was a courageous win.tu?

Big Prairie is running at Keeneland today (4/12) race 9. Stable Alert notified me of its entry, the only comment I had written was "big move after being boxed in at CD". Must have been awhile ago.

Too bad I will miss this race, will check results in a.m.

.... the track continued to play to lightening speed, and CROWNED DANCER is a come from behind sort. He chased between and gave way on a controlled pace. Finished 4th. Needs 6.5 or 7 f to be most effective, NOT time to give up on this one yet.
