I returned an answer for one of the loggers about Joe Bravo's situation about returning after his injury that he suffered at Gulfstream Park on opening day. The doctor told him he really shoud retire from racing because of the spill he took, it nearly paralyzed him. Over the week i read an article in the Asbury Park Press, Joe's home town paper. It stated he is doing great in his rehabilitation, and by the end of April he will back on a couple mounts at Gulfstream, and when Monmouth Park opens he said he will be mounting up on 10!! horses a day. The doctor cleared him to race as soon as he is healthy enough and that should be in about 6 weeks. The doctor also told Bravo your back will feel like you are 16 yrs. old again. (thats hard to believe.) Joe stated "I am like a timex watch i take a licken but i keep on tickin".

While I applaud Joey B part of me says he doesn't have nine lives....take the money you made and run...get out while you can still walk!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think asking a jockey to retired is the same as asking us to stop playing the horses

Sorry to differ with you,,I was at Tampa Bay Downs one sloppy day about 15 years ago watchimg a jock go down,he is now in a wheelchair....Mike Smith a jockey I truely admire rode Holybull and I beleive he also rode Cigar at one point in his career..Broke his back in a bad spill,,came back and really has never been the same except riding Giacomo.. Krone ,Bailey,Pincay,Day,are smart. ....Jockeys don't have nine lives, and I'd hate for a catastrophic event to happen to force his retirement...He's a great rider and has nothing else to prove....
