I am sure that many of the Members have taken notice, but just to make sure
that everybody is aware,Edgar Prado, regarded in this corner,as one of the
top 3 Jockeys in the World,(Johnny V,Rafael Bejarano,being the others),had
been riding in a terrible funk for weeks, since returning from his Moms funeral,
but over the last week has returned to the riding style and form, that has made him so great over the past few years.
Edgar is a brilliant overall talent, but his Grass Race Riding is Supreme.
He rides for all the top outfits,so bettor(er) beware,!
Good Luck and Good Racing to All Members!

Ditto, for me. I wasn't aware of the particulars....just that he wasn't himself as of late.

I knew Prado was good when he was in Maryland but didn't realize he was world-class. Begs the question: who's the next (relatively) unknown jock, riding in a smaller circuit, that has the talent to break into one of the bigger colonies? (We already know about Lezcano.)
I like John McKee as an up-and-comer. He's as Patient as Pat. Nauseating at times, sure, but learned much about the *wind resistance* factor at River Downs.

julian leperoux (sp?) is lighting up the boards down at turfway. i've read nothing but good things about his work ethic and ability. definitely worth keeping any eye on.

I have to give credit to ZRT for pointing out weeks ago that Edgar Prado had regained his top form. Yesterday Prado kept on rolling with 5 wins and two seconds. There's no reason he can't keep on winning as he gets live mounts everyday. With Bailey gone Prado now gets all of Mott's horses, look for these two to rack up the wins all year long. In this game you have to react very fast to trends like hot trainers, jockeys etc, before the crowd catches on. If you had started backing Prado at the first sign of his resurgence you would have done very well. So always be very alert as to who is on the top of their game and who isn't and take advantage of it.

Rose -- picking up Zito's runners. Good for him. He's good, and extremely strong young rider. Dominguez -- finally left the smaller Maryland and Delaware circuits. Top class all the way, so good at bring a horse from off the pace. I know these 2 aren't unknown, but they belong on that top column now IMO. Fresh face, MARTIN GARCIA (GG and BM), this kid has a big rep, tied Russellthemuscle for BM jockey wins last meet.ds:

Couldn't agree more on Dominguez has been underated for years. Will probaly go back to Delaware when it opens, but I could be wrong. Always rides at Saratoga and would like to see him year round in New York. Should see him this year in the Derby with Achilles of Troy. And your right about Rose he's been very impressive at Gulfstream.

I really think you'll see Dominguez stay in New York for good now. The loss of Bailey and even a guy like Day for the Saratoga meet really opens the doors for a more consistent Dominguez presence. You may still see Ramon ride at DEL on Mon and Tues throughout the weeks (he is a busybody), but I think his wed-sun will be in NY. He's going to win Belmont meet or be in the top 3 if he stays; national recognition time, the DEL days may be gone for him now!!! NOTE: Just like we won't see BEJARANO OR COURT BACK AT ELLIS IN THE SUMMER.bc( cheers!
