Any win bet on a 10-1 or longer horse is good if the tote odds are longer than the win/loss career record of the horse.
For example, the career record is 11 races, 10 losses, 1 win. Any tote odds of 11-1 or better is a good bet. Always credit the horse with 1 extra race, a win. So a horse that is 0 for 10 still reads 10-1.
In Zippy Chiipy's case I gave him a win so I had him pegged at 99-1 and never bet him to win! Giacomo qualified for a bet under my angle!
