I was just wondering how much time most of you spend either handicapping, betting or watching races. It seems like most people on this board are regulars. To be honest, I used to spend much more time at it. But, right now with work and other obligations I can't. I used to go 5 days a week and would watch every replay, document playbacks, etc. I used to be alot better than I am now.

I seldom go but bet online. When I do go I have my bets ready and only look at others if mine scratches or if the tote is a long way off from what I expected lower on mine or up on another horse (value). I may make additional multiple longshot bets if my wife likes a longshot ($2). I do not decide whethter or not to play any given race myself while at the track otherwise.

I go to my simulcast venue every Saturday. About 50% of all Sundays and at least one other day. Could be the last half a the card on Thursday or Friday. I am more prepared for Saturday because i study the form for a few hours the night before. I generally pass on all fields of less than eight. I also pass for any claiming race below 12000. I call it my "Mason-Dixon" line. I also never play 2L claimers at any level.

I spend about 30 min handicapping horse races. On dogs I have another system. I go to Phoenix Raceway or Tucson, watch the handicappers, take the 1st 3 dogs then watch the board to see what the punters are doing. If there are 3 obvious favs then I Exata Box them for $1 (total $6). If there are not 3 favs I skip the race. At some tracks Quinellas pay more than EX.

Jacksonville & Orange Park dog tracks are very hard to handicap. Dogs win at those tracks that are total losers. I do all my dog betting on Link2bet.com, all my horse betting on Livehorsebetting.com.

I'll spend about 12 hours on a Pick 6 but then again I can hit 5 winners on a 16 dollar ticket with longshot singles. Recently singled an 84, 24 and 17 dollar
horse on a 12 dollar ticket at Hollywood. There was one winning ticket for 1.5 mil. I know, I've tried big tickets but they don't help.
