Post Breeders Cup notes....I had Miesque's Approval to win.....we all wish it would have been more money or played a perfecta when we have a long priced horse but the racing Gods weren't with me as many of you know..
In any event the important thing to remember here is..if you've been playing a horse all year that has been favored ..you must stick it out ..this horse was being geared for this race for sometime..The trainer Marty Wolfson has been around a while and has been known to win some very big races...The jockey Eddie Castro may not be J.R. , Castellano,or Jara but is very well respected especially on turf..and had this been a Mott horse as it previously was the odds would have been much lower...
So next years Breeders Cup thought ... horses who have been favored two or three races back sent off at longer odds are excellent value plays and deserve respect..

Congratulations on pulling that one down. The only reason I made a stand against Miesque's Approval, was that he was a 7yo with a paired figure pattern that was up near his career best. Younger, more talented horses will usually improve off such a pattern, but older, less talented horses will usually decline. Perhaps that is why you got 25-1. Anyways, congrats on a job well donea:

They say, whoever they are, to always play the older horse in those turf races. Funny thing, I usually did play Miesque's Approval in the past because of his broodmare sire, With Approval.
I did play Miesque's Approval's trainer, Woolfson on Pomeroy a few
weeks back when he was a big long shot. Gonna watch out for that
particular trainer. I like discovering trainers. Just wish I had remembered
come Breeders when Miesque's Approval showed up!
