After Fleet Indian was able to rate in the Beldame, and then win, I fully expect her to end her year winning the Distaff....Jose Santos fits this horse very well.

Like Sharp Lisa's run-style and doesn't appear "used-up". ::;

I'm going to go against Fleet Indian again...
Santos is due to butcher one. I'll take an improving Pine Island and/or Spun Suguar.

Round Pond held in gamely in a 3 way duel last out until late--a duel that Fleet Indian rated behind. Should be fast up front again and hopefully Round Pond can rate and roll at a big number--should be sitting on peak race for Matz. Fleet Indian's tactics very encouraging last out--she has shown rateability in the past too; very formidable chalk (looked Balletto in the eye and would let her go by).
1.Fleet Indian
2.Balletto
3.Pine Island
4.Happy Ticket
5.Round Pond

I'm actually torn between Balleto and Happy Ticket. I also like Sharp Lisa at an groundshaking price, but she make need a bit more ground, and will have to run the race of her life. Pine Island is also a possibility, but in all honesty, I picture Fleet Indian getting collared at the wire by a fresh horse.
I should have had the winner of last year's distaff. I saw the complete collaspe of pace on paper, and Pleasant Home was the best of two, maybe three solid closers.gah;
Life goes on doesn't it?

Pine Island is the "now" horse, a 3 year old who continues to improve both on the track and in the Beyer numbers.
Trainer Shug is a guru with these fillies, and has the stretch runner primed to shine on Saturday.

I had to say that since so many people liked fleet indian I voted for her. Besides, all of you know more about the now horses than I do.

Johhny V only rode Fleet Indian once in her career, Santos has ridden Fleet for all her wins this year

While Fleet Indian probably deserves the favoritism, and Spun Sugar looks like she's coming up to a big race, the same can be said for Asi Sempre. We've often looked at turf to dirt as a positive angle, so why not poly to dirt. The talent is there, the price is there, TOP jock, and astute trainer. (Having said that, I'll be using all 3 in my p4/p6, but Julien will be a BC winner TODAY!)

I can't bet the chalk here. I think the race sets up perfect for a horse like Pine Island to pick off the speed in the stretch. I guess that is why they call it gambling.ds:

I like the chancrs of Pooland hasn't raced for 55 days, should be frsh, lost only 2 races got the cat blood, and JR.V rides

You can make a case for almost all of them. Can't wait to see how it plays out. I guess I'll go:
Asi Siempre
Fleet Indian
Healthy Addiction
Pine Island

You really can make a legitmate argument for every horse in the race, and at the same time make a good case for Fleet Indian at 8-5. Difficult to say which race I'm looking forward to the most, but this may be the most intriguing.
I will try to beat Fleet Indian, but still not sure with whom. :o

Balletto has been close all year, and with a longer stretch at CD should catch the leaders late. Shug McGaughey was quoted this week saying that he thought Balletto was the horse to beat in the Distaff.

Balletto gets by Fleet Indian this time. Expect a big day for Nakatani $)

I went with Pine Island, I think Castellano will have her just off the pace with Fleet Indian getting pressure from Pool land and or Healthy Addiction. Which will give Pine Island and Castellano their chance coming down the stretch.

I believe Pool Land is going to be the surprise winner in this Breeders Cup.

Terrific effort by Round Pound, Happy Ticket (LA-bred Anet cannot get over it) as well as Asi Siempre who thrashed a rival or two but did finish 2nd to dispel the Poly-fluke theory (I adhered to this as well). She is a daughter of El Prado.
Sympathy goes out to Pine Island=special horse who was only going to get better and better as well as Fleet Indian--at her best IMO better than Ashado.

Mister Z, I adhered as well. Asi checked before the turn as well. Had she stayed put before swinging out, it would have opened for her. She has definately found her better surface. Happy Ticket made a big move on the turn, she's gritty! More sympathy to Pine Island and Shug. She was a good one. I knew something happened when I heard the crowd respond, but I couldn't see the backside.
