I think Giacomo is a big overlay due to even fractions and horses-for-courses at 30-1 at CD.

Only way DC goes is if B is sick: B will be 4-5 or less--biggesy chalk of the day--HH second biggest. Fat prices all over the place. Put Lawyer Ron (under Pletcher) in Jim Dandy & Travers and what happens?

Perfect Drift ridden by GG--big odds--will come in the superfecta (or your money back).

Deltasport's odds- check the 1st post! I know Giacomo won 1 at CD at 50-1.
I'd bet his 7 horses at 30-1 every day!

I understand!
How these odds have a chance to hold I would not understand, but Mike's object may be just to get the ball rolling; maybe Watchmaker will put out odds later to compare!

Flower Alley is the AE.
I see Giacomo as the least desirable win play in the field but bottom rung filler at a big number. Premium Tap is on an upward trajectory but like Lava Man, Bernardini, Lawyer Ron, Brother Derek, Suave and I'm assuming GW likes to be up close. Invasor will get a fair chance.

I was wondering where the BC discussions were.
I have the advance in front of me, so I will give my contenders line for whoever is interested. Any questions/comments are greatly appreciated.
Beyer Par:118
Bernardini- should still be eligible to improve, but who has he really beaten to this point: 3-1
David Junior-Won a couple of races in New Market at this distance on turf, and his Tomlinson is very good. He also just missed to Ouija Board and Electrocutionist in Ascot 2 back. The big questions are of course; Can he handle dirt?, and is this the best time to find out?; 15-1
Invasor could be the value play in this race. He does'nt seem to have plateaued, and you could get a price based on the fact that he missed the Jockey Gold Cup with a fever. He's already proven he could win at this distance against slightly better quality horses as well; 5-1
Beyond that, it's a very wide open for exotic fillers.
Discreet Cat is not running unless Bernardini defects
Lava Man's las race that competes with these was his Hollywood gold Cup back in July of 05
Perfect Drift's best races fall a length of two short, and now that he's a 7yo......hh)
Sun King has some distance issues.
Flower Alley is on the AE list but will still have to run the race of his life just to be competive if he does draw in.
The rest of the field appears up against it.
If you have a gut on Invasor or David Junior, then bet the crap out of them to win if you get your price, otherwise the serial bets are probably your best bet, especially since the races before this one seem a bit more complex.
Looking forward to hearing from others on this or other breeders cup races.

i think its a mistake to put bernardini a head taller than lava man, invasor .a few others you mentioned. so i think whoever fires his best shot from striking position can win . not many slouches or also rans. makes for a great race this year. imagine if barbaro stayed sound + won at sar or something. i will wait till later in the week .a lot of horses are cross registered. to heck with the world series . gm

Cigar and FuPeg lost at low odds: what other big names? (Crist w/ some good points today; he says 80% of his pick 6 plays will include Bernardini keyed.)
*Though Bernardini may be sitting on his peak race*

Also, Alan Shuback with--as usual--a brilliant piece. You should check this out: http://www.drf.com/news/article/80013.html

Euro lines are up and all over the place: here's one http://www.coral.co.uk/sb.go?page=supergrouppage&sportid=9&supergroup=Breeders'%20Cup&lang=20&sid=20&ms=MS
They like Bernardini and as always prefer the Euro in the grassathons. Here nothing but good things about Red Rocks. Rush Bay is 4 3 1 0 @ CD & I think Silverfoot has a something similar (G3s).

Innovation from the BC board of control--I can't believe it. inconceivable to inevitable.

Still think there should be a turf sprint.
