IMHO Lava Man seems to have close races and knows how to win them so i think the Classic will be a whale of a race. For some reason i thought maybe Invasor would make a good 3 horse race but im waiting to see who else will be in and may put invasor down a notch or 2 .I still am a huge Bernardini fan won a lot of money on him when Barbaro went down i didnt have a nickle on Barbaro but i sure dont like to see any horse go down.
I usually do not agree with those who talk about a lousy crop but it seems between Lava Man AND bernardini there is no one who could touch either one- others are either not good enough or too hurt to race enough big races to beat them.

Did you see Bernardini's race? The jockey was just petting him as he strode down the stretch. He has a nearly full reserve tank, for the Classic. Looks like a super/key with Bernardini/Lava Man/ALL/ALL and Bernardini/ALL/Lava Man/ALL. zxvtrp

I don’t know what’s going to happen when and if Bernardini and Lava Man meet. If I knew. I would be rich. Maybe some other horse will run the race of his life, maybe one of the Europeans will sneak in there, or maybe there will be some kind of big scandal with the winner. Most likely Bernardini will walk the dog on the field. I do know that if Lava Man goes off at 2-1 or better I will play him to place. For the record I am rooting against Bernardini. I wouldn’t bet against him, just not going to cheer for him.
I will bne wondering what the filed size will be!

Due the $$$ of the "Classic", it is sure to draw a good size field(I think 14 is the max.). What I can't beleive is, why would "Brother Derek" consider the race. Just like in the "Derby", he has NO SHOT.

In my understanding (which may be faulty), EXCLUDING the Saturday races, the BREEDER'S CUP CLASSIC point standings look like this:
LAVA MAN...........40
BERNARDINI.........30
INVASOR.............30
BROTHER DEREK....22
SUN KING............22
It's for sure that if these top three are all in the race, it will be a memorable one. More than likely, it will be a race where post position determines a LOT.
A maximum of 14 can enter.

I understand that Invasor may still run...but...rumors change day by day.

Hoping for at least 12 entries to make the race at least a little interesting.
Anything can happen in a horse race, like not getting out of the gate, jockey falls off, etc.etc.etc. Otherwise it look's like a two horse race.

I have respect for what Lava Man has accomplished in CA, I'm on your side! If Lava Man hasn't ran well outside of CA in the past, why is he going to this time? And I don't think Lava Man's competition has been that fierce. Preaching at the Bar and Giacomo are GIII horses! Take Lava Man out of his last race, and put Wanderin Boy in, W.B. wins! And we saw what Bernardini did to him. WB has to have his way on the lead to win. WB got his way last Saturday and still couldn't withstand Bernardini! He wins by 5! Freak Show on Nov. 4th at CD! On a side note, Bernardini is one of the few horses that actually has fulfilled the expectations of his pedigree.
