I can probably count the number of polytrack races that I've ever bet on one hand.
Does anybody have any insight on polytrack trends - Turfway, or Woodbine...
Thanks
Check flatstats.com for England's tracks. Reasoning would dictate comparing like hardnesses of surface rather than type of surfaces- check the KY PP's for DRF variantrs oat TP, then see if horses that won there have done well on similar variants on dirt- better yet maybe check finish times on TP for comparison.
I would hesitate to bet horses that won at 6f in 1:09 if TP time is closer to 1:11, likewise routes.

I pay a bit more attention to workouts on the poli surface....if a horse works well on it....i have noticed a high correlation to a solid performance. {at least at Turfway} At Keeneland...we will all be looking closely for a bias. New type of Politrack here so it is a brave new world. I am going to watch the replays closely this weekend.

According to Steve Davidowitz's piece in this week's DRF Simulcast Weekly, Andy Beyer says form at Turfway was like a roller-coaster ride this meet. One day speed holds well, the next closers dominate. Overall, Turfway played much faster than it did a year ago when Poly was introduced.
Those of you who have closely followed Turfway and/or Woodbine since Polytrack was added:
Does turf form hold up well?
Do horses with 1 or more prior starts on Polytrack have an advantage?
Do horses with good dirt form need a race, or at least a workout, over the surface before they're ready to win?
TP last meet- there were many trainers who W/P/S, won 5, 4, or 3 races; These are the ones who won in the least amount of tries. Note 60% winning purse means these races were $7-10k!
IMHO, some of the cheaper criples decide they love the rubber as compared to the harder tracks and run much better in less pain! But the PP's will tell better.
