A jockey whips a known bleeder 10 times in the stretch, man that's got to hurt. I am sure there are some good stories about the jockey and his whip, put out the candle, get that assistant starter - he holds the horse's tail, how did you get that lump on your head? My main point is that "bleeding" is a major handicapping issue and more so at the bottom rungs, how much do you know about bleeding in racing, is it a major deal? Lasix works, period. There is no way we know how much scar tissue that runner has in its lungs. Now wouldn't be nice to have a pulmonary test done on every runner after a four furlong work. I have seen some nice training jobs, taking a year to correct the bleeding issue. Anyone got good info on the lasix issue?
My question is this ....Why isn't lasix being used in Europe,Japan, and Dubai don't there horses bleed.......????

A trainer friend has told me that some horses go better on 2nd time lasix ............ some horse do not take to it the first time Yes I know it is harder to keep track of >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hold your horses!
I see a good share of horses a length or 2 late out of the gate.
My understanding is Lasix (Salix)- Most horses bleed in the lungs because their heart rate at the amount of exercise they do in racing causing the total volume of blood forced into the veins in the lungs to exceed capacity to handle it- most likely depends on excersing done. Turfers are probably not exerting as much pressure as dirt horses due to the increased speed throughout the race.
Horsee that bleed through lasix are required to get certain time off depending on how many times they bleed. Horses running on Lasix 2nd time without a short layoff most likely did not bleed noticeably through it- so coonsidered a better bet than 1st time.
I do not like to bet a young horse on Lasix that has had any layoff. It is sometimes difficult to tell whether a shorty layoff is due to bleeding or a leg problem.
