I have used ALL-WAYS for about 10 years and in the last year I have also added HTR. I find both to be very informative for almost any type of data relating to handicapping. Recently I have added several of Bob Pitlaks work.

I've tried both of those. The daily card files were too expensive with AllWays, although i liked the program. I subscribed to HTR for a short time and really liked it, but, again, for the recreational player, was too expensive to continue using.

I purchase Equisim in 2002, upgraded several times, and have used it ever since. It too is a database program and uses Bris or TSN data files and exoctic results files. Support is outstanding. Data card files are $1 per card.

Rebel- I also use EquiSim and have since 2004. I use version 4 and did not upgrade to version 5 as I was satisfied version 4 provided me all the info I needed. I also use Computrak as I feel it is a great contrast to EquiSim. I use the TSN Procap data files and the xrd results and charts for my d base.

I tried Allways & found it too much trouble for the small return. I found a new (for me) wagering site called "Betbrain.com." Go online & check "Surebets." This give you all kinds of sports from around the world that oddmakers give positive money on both teams playing.

There are some drawbacks. European sports are bad about draws (ties). You can't bet on 3 outcomes & make any money. Also, both teams have to have over 2.00 odds (Europeans use the decimal system which is a lot easier to handicap). You have to bet on both teams, therefore, one has to lose. Team A at 2.15 means $10= $22.15 return. Team B at 2.75 odds means $22.75 return, but they can't both win. Subtract your $20 risk & you can see there's not much profit unless you bet big or often. Getting money into European web sites is frustrating. None of them take American credit cards. Neteller is the best way. You need money in 2 or 3 sites. The best one is EXPEKT.com It is Malta & won't take American's money, just fill out the form & check UK. Also, you have to put a phone #. Don't use dashes, it won't work. put your phone # as 914 555 1212. You can bet most matches on here & Betfred.com

It's fun but risky.
Good luck,
Mousey

I'm planning on purchasing some handicapping software and would like some opinions. I am not familiar with HTR?, what and where do I find it.

Horseplayer quote:

I have downloaded the EquiSim trial and am pretty impressed with it, esp. being able to write my own formulas/expressions to sort out my spot play angles.

How do these programs compare to one another and if you were limited to using only one, which would it be?

Would like to here all opinions from all who use any handicapping software package.

Thanks for all replies.

Ive been using quickhorse through the free trial. I was an owner many years ago and, after retiring, I decided to try the computer programs. We had a program so many years ago that you had to buy the computer to get the program! In any event, I'm relatively pleased with the return with this program, but would like to explore further. I'm not terribly computer savvy, but I think I understand the horses and handicapping fairly well. Any suggestions? Jerry

I use Computrak and Quickplay. I love the friction rating for the long routes with Computrak. Quickplay kicks it with pick 3's and the longshot methods.

My major software is Gordon Pine's Netcapper

When NetCapper has done it's work-it's loaded into a tote program called ATR and highlights best betting options.

I take that data to PTC's BetBuilder and dutching platform and at 30second to post make my bets.bf.

Can you give us some examples of your successes? Can you post, here, the PROBABLE plays that you will make, today?

Thanks!
