To me this is the most frustrating part of horse racing for owners. Never is the book followed and sometimes most all races ( other than stakes) are on the over nights. My horses sometimes can go a couple of months before a race comes up. Not only is it hard on the owner but the trainer can't judge when to have the horse primed. Working a horse is ok but its not the same as race condition. Sorry for the venting its just I saw my tranier breeze one of my horses today and that shows me she won't get a race for awhile and its been 6 weeks already.

I do not check then condition book, but I do not see why the book cannot be followed at least pretty well, unless the Sec'y is not totally up to date on how many horses have won races during a certain period of time.
Are you one who is worried about 2 lbs difference? In do not seem to see many cheap ALW races any more in Ca.
On one track I am following a horse has scratched out 3 times within 2 weeks but I have no idea why.
RJ is this at a partiular track or is aproblem at most tracks???

I can only speak for the west coast. I suspect it is common all over. As an example at Turf Paradise last week I saw where 8 races one day were on the overnights. I have stopped looking at the condition book and only check the overnights for a race for my horses.

RJ I know what you mean. Geeze here at GP its the same thing, Races dont fill and when you train your horse up to a race in the book and it doesnt go doesnt make it easy. A trainer cannot train horses for xtra races that are put on the overnite.

Ya
Whats worse is the high percent of the overnights that don't go. I don't know how it is where you are but here thats a common problem.

is rarely considered (unless you're connected). Owners must get their horses in when they can get there horses in. Sometimes not under the ideal coniditions.
