With all the good filly's running this year I think Goldikova has been a little overlooked. She will run against the boys in the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1). Bobby Frankel must think a lot of his mare Precious Kitten because she is entered against boys too. Unlike Precious Kitten, Goldikova has proven she can beat the boys like in her last race at Longchamp where she beat the boys at the distance, on the turf, including Henerythenavigator who runs in the Classic. She has also finished second twice to Zarkava and we all know she can beat Colts and Horses. Goldikova's biggest challenge in the Mile might be coping with the hard, dry turf course at Santa Anita.
Freddie Head, the trainer of Goldikova, used to be the regular rider of Miesque — the Hall of Fame race mare who became the first horse to win back-to-back Breeders' Cup races in the Mile in 1987 and 1988.
Head finds himself on remarkably familiar ground on the 20th anniversary of his record-setting triumph and if he should win this weekend, Head would become the first former Breeders' Cup-winning jockey to train a Breeders' Cup winner.
If she doesn't get them boys then I like the other Euro invader, the Aidan O'Brien/John Murtagh, first time lassix, right off the plane, US Ranger.
