I wish we could get him at 3-1, with Brown out there is no chance, although Aidan O'Brien has confirmed he plans to enter both Duke Of Marmalade and Henrythenavigator in the Breeders' Cup Classic, and they don't have a chance either but it might help Curlin's odds. Both horses have had long seasons, Henry has never been over a mile. John Velasquez will ride whichever horse Johnny Murtagh doesn't want.

You're right, we'll pobably be lucky to get 1-3, especially without Big Brown in there. In fact, I don't even remember off the top of head, who else has already qualified with a win. Maybe Casino Drive?? Unless there's an intriuging mystery horse in the field, Curlin may be the only "free" space in the serial bets.

The way I see as of right now, and this might change by post time, Old Mr. Curlin is going to run just hard enough and do just what he has to do to win and Casino Drive is going to be all out to beat the rest.
Remember Invasor--Bernardini, I see a simular result

I don't think there is a filly entered or cross entered in the Classic.
I might be wrong, we will have to wait for the final entries to be drawn.

After glancing at the BC advance, If anyone has a chance to beat Curlin, It might very well be Go Between. His numbers are only a length or two behind Curlin's, He still has at leat some upside, as a 5yo, and he's already proven on the surface. Will he win? That's hard to say, but the price should be there, and there's always that slightest opportunity that Curlin may decide his B game is good enough to win this going away.

Delta,
I always enjoy getting your input on this site.
You know alot about the game, and obviously have many contacts.
I'm not sure, though, where you are getting your odds info from.
The 8-5 sounds about right, but there can't be a morning line until
the post positions are drawn on Tuesday. Putting those odds beside him then would make sense.
I doubt that Curlin will go off higher than even money at post time.
Personally, I will try to beat him with my wagers, as there will be quite a few good horses going off at inflated odds. Most of the hype will be about Curlin this coming week.
He is an exceptional horse, but untried on this surface.
He ran at least 6 lengths below par on turf, when they tried it.
It's hard to take even money on him running on a new surface.
That reason alone makes it worth taking a stand against him on Saturday.
Winners of multiple Grade 1s will be going to post at high odds.
I'm not sold on the Euro horses chances, especially if the weather is hot.
Right now, Go Between is a strong possibility if the odds are right, and a live longshot will be Student Council, who should be a huge price.
Nothing would be better to see than Curlin kicking clear inside the final eighth. Something tells me different, though.......
Good luck!

WORDS FROM THE PAST tu?
BACK IN 1962, PRESTON BURCH WHICH WAS ELLIOT BURCH'S FATHER TOLD ME WHILE WE WERE DRIVING FROM MIDDLEBURG VA TO WASHINGTON DC AFTER MORNING TRAINING> "NEVER BET ON A HORSE THE FIRST TIME WHEN YOU ARE ASKING HIM TO DO SOMETHING HE HAS NEVER DONE BEFORE"
THATS ANOTHER REASON WHY PRESTON BURCH IS IN "THE HALL OF FAME"
