Anticipation and expectation gave way to awe and amazement as the incredible Zarkava confirmed herself a genuine champion with a stunning success in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. She gave her career record a gilt-edged appearance when slaying older colts in the autumn showpiece. Her rivals parted like the Red Sea at the required moment and the Aga Khan's famous green and red silks majestically swept into the lead inside the final furlong.
I wish she would come to America and race Zenyatta but that won't happen, she is done for the year.
I bet the Curlin people are glad they passed the Arc becauce most likely Curlin would have been beaten by another girl. I'm still holding out hope that the Zenyatta people might change their mind, in light of the Arc, and have a go against the boys in the BC Classic. A good looking colt like Curlin just seems to attract the girls.
For those of you that missed it like I did this morning, here it is on YouTube. Video isn't very good and the race is called in French, but you'll get the idea, what a race.
