a must play at whatever track you follow. leading rider for the meet at 10-1 or higher is worth a w/p w/s bet .double your bet on the p/s just in case you don't win.
I figure the trainer knows the horse is ready despite record and wants a top jockey sitting.

Its almost a sure bet to take a Jockey that leads the track in winning, to show or place. I do it all the time and if I take it to win I bet, if i take it to place, i double the win and if i take it to show i triple the bet. Always a good bet to take the leaders at the tracks they race at.
Good luck and keep picking winners!!!

Sound idea. The late Dick Mitchell was fond of saying that the top jockeys win most of everything, including long shots.

SAT. @ FP (Fairmount Park) R. VILLIFAN the top rider in wins @ meet went off @ 10-1 or > in 4 races winning 1 and paying $41.00. don't know if you get to watch any races from this track but i'm sure you follow a smaller type track where this can be a profitable little wager.bigger crowds on weekends could lead to strange pool totals.
