I can see in a pipe dream why Fred wants to take a shot.
Turf to dirt, came from way off the pace to just miss at a 1 1/2 mile, time wasn't great but he might improve. His Pedigree says yes and this is more endurance then speed, They all might fold after a 1 1/4 except Casino, we just don't know. After running 1 1/4 miles, he made up ten lenghts and ran his last 1/8 in 12.60. He is the only horse in the race to go the distance and still have something left at the end. He might be the kind of horse that takes a long time to get going, it might take two miles to late.
Also Florida breed horses love that hot weather. I still like Big Brown, so the best the Canal can do is 2nd. Probably he will pass a few tiring horses at the end. I love the X Factor.
Here is the question?
Will Guadalcanal hit the board?
Will Guadalcanal finish 4th, 5th, or 6th?
Will Guadalcanal finish 7th, 8th, or 9th?
Will Guadalcanal finish dead last?
Guadalcanal will not run.
One sure thing is that he will be the longest shot on the board.

I agree with the majority in that he will probably fininsh off the board. However, he did almost win at this same distance. Surface aside, if he goes of at over 100-1, he could be this year's Sarava, and maybe worth a stab. Ideally however, the race is most likely going to be won by either Big Brown, or Tale of Ekati. Casino Drive has had only 2 previous races, and despite what most people think, he beat a pack of dogs in the Peter Pan. He does have the breeding for the distance (the damn also foaled, Jazil and Rags to Riches), not to mention the owner intent has been this race all along, but at 7-2?, Big Brown will probably offer more value at 2-5.

He will hang out in last and hope to pass any who breaks down. His trainer, Fred Seitz, is a jerkoff idiot. Hows that?

McPeek trained Sarava, this is Sootz. Sarava was no maiden. Didn't Missle Hissle put a maiden in last year that didn't break his maiden for a long time and is now a decent allowance horse?

well, he passed one horse, Big Brown, after he pulled up. Congrats Fred Seitz, hopefully your horse isn't in the kind of shape your brain is.
